Wow! This year went by quickly!! I can’t believe I remembered to check in again on this day this year! March 25 is kind of becoming my personal New Years, I guess…a time for reflection and a little goal setting.
Last year March 25 fell on a sunny weekend and we went to the zoo. This year I was at work and it’s cold and snowy…so not too much to report! Not too many pictures…or any, actually! We spent the day at work, had leftover pork chops for dinner and watched the end of The Hobbit on DVD. Since I did homework for about 8-9 hours straight yesterday…no homework tonight for me!
All in all, it’s been a good year! Closer to family, I took my first “girls weekend” trip, visited home, started a second Master’s degree in a field outside of my comfort zone, ran my first big race, posted a drawing online (homework), won an Instagram contest but didn’t know it, got an Epi-Pen prescription, navigated my way around NYC, and made a little headway in my fight against my arch nemesis…anxiety. I’ve made an effort to try something new every couple of months…new music, food, author…I even bought a tank top and wore it in public. I’ve been running consistently for almost a year, too 🙂 Hence the courage to wear a tank top in public. Hopefully I’ve helped and supported some people, too.
I’m always mindful today that sometimes life is what you make it…you’ve got to go out, grab it by the horns and hang on for the ride. My goal is to keep trying to take advantage of what life has to offer. Some days it’s hard…but so worth it when you accomplish a goal or when you get to be there to see a loved one accomplish theirs.
I’m so thankful for my family and friends. You really are my inspiration. A couple of years ago…someone reminded me that I didn’t always have to be the strong one…who knew what a positive impact that would have on my life…thank you. I’m still working on letting go just a teensy bit, but I’m sure taking some baby steps 😉 (Love you!) Let’s see what we can accomplish together this year!
Well…Ok…just one pic 🙂
